Privacy Policy

Folio · Effective July 30, 2026

Folio helps book clubs pick a book, schedule meetings, and discuss between them. This policy explains what we collect, why, and who we share it with. We do not sell your personal information.

What we collect

How we use it

To run your book club: authenticate you, show club activity to fellow members, compute meeting times, suggest venues, transcribe voice input, and power Kali, our in-app assistant. Messages you send to Kali are processed by an AI provider to generate a response.

Who we share it with

We use trusted service providers only to run the app, under their own privacy terms:

Only members of a club can read that club's discussion. Removing a member revokes their access immediately.

Data retention & deletion

We keep your data while your account is active. Raw AI prompt/response history is short-lived and expires after it's summarized. Feedback you send is deleted after a year.

You can delete your account at any time from Account → Delete account in the app — no email required. Deleting removes your profile, your notes, your feedback, and any clubs you own (including their books, votes, and discussion). Messages you posted in clubs owned by someone else remain so the conversation still reads, but they are no longer attributed to you. You can also email us if you'd rather we do it.

Your choices

Calendar, location, and microphone access are all optional and controlled in your device settings; the app works without them. You can edit or remove your profile in the app.

Children

Folio is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
